ABOUT

Camp Hustle 2023 was absolutely magical! We dined on the beach, drank cocktails by the pool, and talked all things tech and investing

We will be back in 2024!

Read on about the past event…

Camp Hustle is an oasis for investors.

You'll connect with prominent family offices, institutions, and angels from Southeast Asia and the US, who love the same things you do: great founders and great startups.

The event combines discussions on high growth investments, connections you won’t find in your day-to-day life, and…. a beautiful Bali beach resort.

Programming

On the Camp Hustle Stage, you’ll learn how to invest strategically from seasoned investors from Silicon Valley and Southeast Asia.

You’ll also hear from outrageously successful founders with $100s of millions in revenue.

Group Sessions

Deep dive with a small group into topics like AI, how to start your first fund, and how to invest in venture as a family office.

Live GP Pitch Competition

Are you raising a fund? Pitch a panel of LPs! Each pitch will be timed at 4 minutes. The session is meant to help GPs with their narrative, and show how seasoned LP's evaluate funds.

Connection

THIS is the best part! Combine relaxation with serendipitous meetings. Forge relationships with other investors, source great deal flow, and have deep conversations.

Grab your suitcase and join us at the Sofitel Bali Beach Resort… Camp Hustle Asia awaits!

Get on the list!
Be the first to know about promotions, updates, and announcements.

How it all began

Camp Hustle debuted in California in 2022, and the people wanted more! So we did it again in 2023 — bigger and better.

And now...

We are bringing Camp Hustle to Southeast Asia!

We are inviting local, and Silicon Valley guests to Bali — discussing topics relevant to SEA investors, mixed in with a healthy dose of American experience and knowledge in startup investing.

Check out what attendees had to say about past Camp Hustles!

Bonfire Sessions

Join a small group for a collaborative, deep-dive discussion. This is a great opportunity to connect more deeply with other Camp Hustle attendees. Here are the topics you can choose from:

Option 1: Investing in AI
Leader: Lake Dai

Talk about the real trends and opportunities vs the hype. How might you evaluate AI companies differently from the building cost to timelines and returns. In this discussion, AI investor, Lake Dai will share her approach and learnings.

Option 2: Starting a syndicate vs starting a fund
Leader: Elizabeth Yin

Running a syndicate and running a fund are both great ways to uplevel your skills as an investor. But the logistics, the day-to-day operations, and the deals are dramatically different between the two. In this discussion, we’ll talk about the pros and cons of each option, and tactics to grow each one.

Option 3: How to network and invest in Silicon Valley Companies
Leader: Eric Bahn

Silicon Valley still produces an outsized amount of new startups compared to many other regions. On top of this, many of them have the talent, network, and funding to hit their milestone and bring large returns to their investors. However, as an outside investor, it’s often hard to get access to those companies, and often hiring a local analyst is just not enough. We will use this talk to discuss with other Silicon Valley investors how to start meeting the most promising companies.

Option 4: Generating predictable DPI in South-East Asia
Leader: Milan Reinartz,
NonPublic.io

We’ll discuss how South-east Asia VCs have (and have not) been able to generate distributions to LPs and the elements of concentration risks in unicorn hunting, corporate M&A, local stock exchanges and secondaries transaction at different stages.

12:00 - 12:45am
Live GP Pitches

Watch live as 3 pre-selected GP's pitch our panel of LP's. Amazing for GP's honing their narrative, and investors learning what questions seasoned LP's ask before investing in a fund.

1:00 - 2:00pm
Lunch

We’re cooking up a delicious buffet. Dive in!

2:00 - 3:00pm
Camp Hustle Stage

Camp Hustle will feature 5 keynote speakers, each one a founder with hundreds of millions in revenue, or a seasoned investor sharing their investment frameworks and tactics. We will cover topics like AI, Web3, Building and Investing in SEA and USA.

3:20 - 4:00pm
Bonfire Sessions

Join a small group for a collaborative, deep-dive discussion. This is a great opportunity to connect more deeply with other Camp Hustle attendees. Here are the topics you can choose from in the afternoon:

Option 1: How to approach venture investing with family
Leader: Shiyan Koh

If you’re part of a family office or thinking of starting one, this session is for you. This group will discuss best practices around venture investing with family members, strategies to create family alignment, and costly mistakes to avoid.

Option 2: How to invest globally (Europe, emerging markets)
Leader: Scott Hartley

Investing globally is appealing in theory, but what are some of the challenges day to day in practice? Between sourcing, selecting, and supporting a global portfolio, not to mention legal complexities, how can a small fund efficiently navigate a very global world?

Option 3: Investing in secondaries
Leader: Jamie Melzer

Unlike new equity raised by a company (think Series A, B, C...), secondaries are when an investor purchases equity from an existing stakeholder (early investor, founder, employee). There is no marketplace for this, so transactions take place privately between a buyer and seller with approval by the company. In this chat, we’ll talk about where to source secondary supply, structures, pitfalls/risks, company approvals, secondary pricing/opportunities, and how to think about secondaries vs other asset classes in this market.

4:00 - 5:00pm
Happy Hour

Join us for a closing drink!

5:00pm +
Onwards

Visit the hotel restaurants, grab a drink by the pool, and get to know your peers!

FAQ

Who is Camp Hustle For?

Camp Hustle is for anyone who identifies as an investor. If you invest as as a member of a family office, an angel, on behalf of a venture fund, or as part of a company’s fundraising arm, this event is for you.

If you’re thinking of starting your own venture fund, or branching out your network to the US, you will get a lot out of this event.

How many people will be there?

We will gather 50-100 investors + the Hustle Fund team.

We purposefully keep this event small so that guests have a chance to connect meaningfully with other investors, not wade through a huge crowd to try and find their people.

What kinds of networking opportunities will there be?

So many. One of our primary goals with Camp Hustle is to help you find your people.

For example:

  • Small group breakout sessions around new areas of investing
  • Conversation cards to facilitate conversations with strangers
  • Social events sprinkled throughout the agenda to help you connect with other attendees
What is a “Bonfire session”?

Bonfire Sessions are small-group discussions focused on a specific topic. These topics are things like: investing in Silicon Valley Companies, how to approach venture investing with family, how to start your fund, and many more.

We’ve designed these sessions for guests to share their subject-matter expertise, and to connect more deeply with people who love what you love.

Interested in leading a Bonfire Session? Apply here.
